AFRICA REGIONAL FIELD ARCHERY CHAMPIONSHIP 2025
ARFAC 2025 will be proudly hosted by the Archery Association of Zambia from 3rd to 6th July 2025 at the Lusaka Archery Club, located at Long Wait Farms in Lusaka, Zambia.

LUSAKA ARCHERY CLUB
The club is located on a working farm owned by Richard Monge, one of the pioneers of Zambian archery. Over the years, Richard has continuously developed the range into a top-class facility, designed to challenge even the most skilled archers on their best days.
Situated approximately 30 km south of Lusaka, in the Shimabala district near the Kafue River, the range lies within a private game camp, where sightings of Impala, Puku, Bushbuck, and Sable antelope are a regular highlight for visiting archers.
The Lusaka range is also home to the legendary 60-yard “Arrow Killer”, a demanding uphill shot that continues to test even the most experienced archers, making it a favourite and feared feature of the course.
FORMAT
The ARFAC competition shall consist of 3 days, 28 targets per day
Day 1 Field round 28 targets
Day 2 Hunter round 28 targets
Day 3 Animal round 28 targets
TARGETS
Targets are purchased from South Africa and will consist of the IFAA approved Field, Hunter & Animal targets.
RANGE BUILDING & INSPECTION
The range has previously been inspected and approved by IFAA officials ahead of our last ARFAC event. Since then, several targets have been upgraded in line with their recommendations. Ahead of ARFAC 2025, AAZ will coordinate with IFAA to have the range re-inspected and officially approved.
The course offers a diverse mix of targets, ranging from flat sections winding through lantana bushes to more challenging shots set in the surrounding mountainous terrain. The clubhouse, conveniently located at the halfway point, provides the perfect spot for a well-deserved break during the shoot.
PRACTICE RANGE
The practice range is situated next to the clubhouse and will be available to use before and after shoots. The range will be managed by a Practice Range Marshal. Specific practice timings will be made available well in advance of the competition.
EQUIPMENT REPAIRS & MAINTENANCE
Facilities for maintenance & repairs on equipment will be available at the range during the competition.
FOOD & DRINK
AAZ will appoint two outside caterers to ensure breakfast & lunch is available on the range throughout the day. Provision will also be made for light snacks & drinks throughout the day. The meals are not included in the registration fees and can be purchased from the vendors in Kwacha, our local currency.
